Kelda Wood  is taking delivery of Storm Petrel her Talisker Whisky Challenge steed this Weds Aug 2nd with launch probably on Thursday. See the website http://climbingout.org.uk/index.php/2017/03/20/row-to-raise/

Kelda Wood has also filmed this promotional video at Clywedog to publicise her Atlantic Challenge. Her boat will be arriving Early August to begin practising on the lake. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bl1hhkIXH9U&feature=youtu.be

Also from Aug 4th we will be hosting the Annual visit of members of the Old Gaffer’s Association with their beautiful traditional dinghies. There will be a barbecue style meal on Sat and all are welcome.

Then later on in August over the August Bank Holiday we are pleased to be running the National for the CVRDA (Classic and Vintage dinghy Racing Association) http://www.cvrda.org/. Booked in already is a range of dinghies from a Flying Dutchman to a minisail and a fleet of Moths

Whilst qualification is for dinghies designed before 1965 any one can join in the weekend and is welcome to race alongside these traditional racing dinghies. We have a social and meal with bar on the Saturday night. Lets try and make the club sing again and give a traditional Clywedog welcome to all our visitors this month.

We are looking for volunteers afloat and ashore for the CVRDA. This is your chance to see how fleet racing is done from Committee boats and we need safety crew and galley helpers from Sat lunchtime. Please contact me on 01686640305 or [email protected] or catch me at the club.
